Aircraft Carpet Pads

Aircraft Carpet Pads

Pounding, shearing, vibration, spills…the life of an aircraft carpet is tough. The stress on the carpet padding underneath is worse. Carpet pads in first class and business class need to look good and feel good under taxing conditions. They must meet the FAA/FAR and OEM standards for flammability, smoke and toxicity. But, above all, they need to contribute to passenger comfort with soft, low impact cushioning that reduces vibration…and makes life easier for attendants. BISCO® extra soft cellular silicone materials fit the bill, combining compressibility, softness, and durability in a variety of thicknesses to fit your design needs.

Fire Retardant Thermal Insulation

Aircraft foam padding needs to comply with the FAA/FAR 25.853 standard for flammability. BISCO Silicones reliably meet these regulations and provide low thermal conductivity to help insulate the passenger compartment from the temperature extremes in the cargo area below. These materials are already qualified on OEM material specifications.

Extra Soft, Tight Fit

You want everything in the passenger cabin to contribute to an optimal customer experience – a soft walk that reduces impact on the knees, and tight, attractively fit carpet and padding. While most cushioning wears down over time, BISCO materials have a unique open cell structure that produces breathable foam that will not break down with continual use.

BISCO® BF1000 extra soft silicone foam provides superb flame resistance along with a unique material softness, combining safety and comfort for an improved passenger experience.
