Rail Interior Seals

Rail Interior Seals

Transportation engineers and designers are under tremendous pressure to deliver high-quality and very long-lasting products that integrate a variety of diverse components. Seals are required between mating parts within various sections of the rail car as ceilings, sidewalls and flooring. In addition to filling gaps, these seals need to provide noise and vibration isolation. BISCO® cellular silicone materials maintain excellent resistance to compression set (collapse) so seals won’t loosen over time.

Rail Fire Safety Standards

Rail cars are subject to very stringent specifications that are enforced by many national governing bodies of rail. Components used within the railcar have to meet specific Flame, Smoke and Toxicity requirements depending on its usage and location. BISCO® silicones meet various national rail standards including NFPA 130 (US), BS 6853 (UK), DIN 5510 (Germany), EN 45545 (Europe) and NFF 16-101 (France).

Gasketing & Sealing

BISCO® silicones provide exceptional performance at high temperatures, ideal for use as gaskets and seals, cushions, and thermal and acoustic insulation in demanding conditions.

Vibration Isolation

BISCO® Cellular and Specialty Silicones provide acoustic solutions that block the path of sound and vibration, reducing noise and ensuring a more comfortable ride.
