Impact Absorption

Impact Absorption

From baseball gloves to backpacks to ballistics -- you engineer your products to provide reliable protection even under the most extreme conditions. But traditional padding is bulky, uncomfortable, and rigid. You want a unique, custom fit that ensures ease of motion and superior impact absorbency. PORON® materials deliver what you need – wearable protection that’s comfortable, lightweight, flexible, and breathable.

Extreme Impact Protection

Athletic equipment must withstand hit after hit while maintaining its shape. It should also provide continuous comfort for the wearer. More impact absorption means less jarring of feet and joints. In side-by-side tests, PORON® materials outperform vinyl sponge, neoprene sponge, sponge rubber, latest foam, vinyl nitrile, and solid viscoelastic.

PORON® XRD™ foam materials are the choice for extreme impact protection. It is soft and contouring against the body, yet instantly dissipates force on impact. In tests, PORON XRD technology absorbs up to 90% of the most intense force, far more than the 60% absorbed by competitive EVA blends.

When you need convenient, ready-to-use shapes, PORON XRD M-Guard delivers flexibility, contouring, and impact absorption in five different molded sizes. Antimicrobial protection inhibits the growing of odor causing bacteria, mold, and mildew.

Consistent Cushioning

You want to provide comfort and performance over time. But most cushioning breaks down, usually much sooner than you’d like. PORON® materials have a unique open cell structure that produces a breathable, foam that’s soft to the touch and will not break down with continual use.

PORON® Slow Rebound Material materials have a unique, memory foam-like design that provides good low-level impact absorption. It rebounds slowly when compressed, resulting in a custom fit that supports stability and balance.
