May 12, 2010 (Woodstock, CT.) - It is the second consecutive year that Rogers’ PORON® Performance Cushioning has teamed up with The Ragnar Relay Series, and this year Rogers has expanded their sponsorship to include the Ragnar New York and New England Relays.
First up, Ragnar New York on May 14-15, 2010. Starting in the legendary town of Woodstock, NY, teams of 12 runners rock out on a 178 mile adventure that wraps up in the bright lights of New York City. Leaving little time to breathe in-between, the PORON Cushioning Team heads to New Haven on May 21st to support the Ragnar New England Relay participants. Runners here will take on 180 miles though some of the most scenic towns in the country and find themselves ending in historic Boston, MA.
“The Ragnar Relay is a huge event which allows us to share the experience of our product and technology to a great group of athletes” states Dave Sherman, New Business Development Manager for PORON Cushioning Materials. “PORON Cushioning has grown to be a base product for many products available to runners. Teaming up with the Relay allows us to show our support for a great local event and our product to those who participate.”
The Ragnar Relay started in 2004 with 22 teams competing in Utah and has grown to be the largest relay event in the country. The Series has stops in Miami, Austin, Las Vegas and Santa Barbara to name a few. The concept is quite simple...teams consisting of 12 members run three legs ranging between 3 – 8 miles depending on difficulty. Named after a 9th century Norse King known for being a pirate, a raider, a conqueror, and an explorer, the Ragnar Relay gives runners of all abilities the chance to get out there, explore, and experience outdoor adventure.
Rogers Corporation couldn’t think of a better user test team to experience PORON Cushioning. Rogers volunteers will be supporting runners and handing out insoles, t-shirts, and other promotional items at various check points along the route. In addition to the race, spectators will be able to enjoy live bands and other vendor booths stationed along the course to keep the runners going and to entertain the masses.
