Release Date: 02/05/2009

Warren Taylor

Rogers, CT, February 3, 2009 - The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), located in Ronkonkoma, NY and publisher of Flexo Magazine, celebrated its 50th Anniversary this past year. Founded in 1958, the FTA is the leading technical society devoted exclusively to the flexographic industry. As part of its 50th anniversary the FTA paid renewed homage to one of its founding members, Warren T. Taylor, who is fondly remembered as the “Father of Flexo” by his employer Rogers Corporation.

Taylor began work at Rogers Corporation in 1969 and over the course of his career made considerable contributions to flexographic printing technology. He was inducted into the FTA’s Hall of Fame in 1976 for his contributions to the industry. He had long been associated with the FTA, holding a seat on the Board of Trustees from 1976 through 1980. He was also president of the FTA during 1978 and helped oversee the dedication of the FTA’s new headquarters in Huntington Station, NY. The FTA still provides a scholarship in Taylor’s name.

Rogers’ products for today’s flexographic printing industry continue to revolve around its R/bak® line of cushion mounting foams and tapes composed of open-cell urethane. R/bak materials are used in corrugated printing, flexible packaging, and tag and label applications.
