September 9, 2009 (Woodstock, CT.) - The Ragnar Relay Series and PORON® Cushioning have teamed up to bring one of the greatest relay race series in the country to the New England area September 11 – 12, 2009. The race will start in New Haven and conclude in Boston as teams of 12 join up to take on the 198 mile course. This will be one of 12 stops along the series tour and the first one held in New England.

“The Ragnar Relay is a huge event which allows us to share the experience of our product and technology to a great group of athletes” states Dave Sherman, New Business Development Manager for PORON Cushioning Materials. “PORON Cushioning has grown to be a base product for many products available to runners. Teaming up with the Relay allows us to show our support for a great local event and our product to those who participate”.

The Ragnar Relay started in 2004 with 22 teams competing in Utah and has grown to be the largest relay event in the country. The Series has stops in Miami, Austin, Las Vegas and Santa Barbara to name a few. The concept is quite simple...teams consist of 12 members who run three legs ranging between 3 – 8 miles depending on difficulty. Named after a 9th century Norse King known for being a pirate, a raider, a conqueror, and an explorer, the Ragnar Relay gives runners of all abilities the chance to get out there, explore, and experience outdoor adventure.

“Bringing PORON Cushioning on as a partner has been great for the event. They bring a great product and tremendous enthusiasm to our family and we're looking forward to a long relationship together” says Jeff Reber, Ragnar Relay Sponsorship Manager.

Rogers Corporation couldn’t think of a better user test team to experience PORON Cushioning. Rogers volunteers will be supporting runners and handing out insoles, t-shirts, and other promotional items at various check points along the route. In addition to the race, spectators will be able to enjoy live bands and other vendor booths stationed along the course to keep the runners going and to entertain the masses. For more information and a complete course map, visit the Ragnar Relay web site at www.ragnarrelay.com or www.poroncushioning.com.
