Rogers Corporation Introduces PORON® Embrace for Continuously Adaptive Fit and Long-Term Comfort

Release Date: 03/22/2018

Chandler, Arizona, March 22, 2018 – Rogers Corporation (NYSE:ROG) is pleased to introduce PORON® Embrace, a unique underfoot cushioning technology that delivers continuously adaptive fit and long-term comfort for footwear applications. Retaining the memory of its original shape, PORON Embrace rebounds between steps as it cradles and adapts to the contours of the foot to provide a personalized experience with every step.

For years, footwear designers have struggled with the limitations of typical “memory foams” that attract consumers with initial comfort but collapse quickly due to their low resistance to compression set. After a short period of use, these foams permanently mold to the shape of the foot, resulting in loss of cushioning to critical pressure areas like the heel and ball of the foot. This degradation leads to discomfort and fatigue of lower extremities when walking or standing. Unlike other foams, PORON Embrace returns to its original shape and adapts as the foot moves and changes shape throughout the day’s activities, delivering long-lasting durability and comfort.

PORON Embrace is an ideal cushioning solution for casual, lifestyle or dress footwear, as well as aftermarket insoles. In addition to continuously adaptive fit and long-term comfort, the material’s open-cell structure provides lightweight breathability keeping feet cooler, dryer and more comfortable use after use. When it comes to durability, PORON Embrace shares the excellent compression set resistance found in all PORON Comfort products, returning to within 98% of its original shape, even after long-term use.

“With its unique ability to deliver a one-of-a-kind custom fit step after step, we are proud to introduce PORON Embrace to the footwear industry,” says Kelly Nelson, Rogers’ Associate Market Development Manager for PORON Comfort. “PORON Embrace is sure to be in demand by shoe designers seeking a long-lasting comfort and performance material.”
